The Institution provides leadership in scientific and technical areas of direct importance to the national development and economy. Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has recognized AMIETE. Government of India has recognised IETE as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) and also notified as an educational Institution of national eminence. The objectives of IETE focus on advancing electro-technology. The IETE conducts and sponsors technical meetings, conferences, symposia, and exhibitions all over India, publishes technical journals and provides continuing education as well as career advancement opportunities to its members. IETE today, is one of the prominent technical education providers in India and is fast expanding its wings across the country through its 61 Centres. Over the last 59 years, IETE has expanded its educational activities in areas of Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science and Information Technology. IETE conduct programmes leading to DipiETE equivalent to Diploma in Engineering, AMIETE equivalent to B Tech, ALCCS equivalent to M Tech. The Indian Society for Technical Education is a national, professional, non-profit Society registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. First started in 1941 as the Association of Principals of Technical Institutions (APTI), it was converted into “Indian Society for Technical Education” in 1968 with a view to enlarge its activities to advance the cause of technological education. The major objective of the ISTE is to assist and contribute in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industries and other organisations. Being the only national organisation of educators in the field of Engineering and Technology, ISTE effectively contributes in various missions of the Union Government. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, CTE/DST/MIT/State Govts are well associated with the ISTE for programmes relating to technical education.


Erode District Small Industries Association (EEDISSIA)

Erode District Small Industries Association (EEDISSIA) in association with the TFSC (TANSTIA-FNF Service Centre) will organise a two-day programme on rice and its products. A release from EEDISSIA says through the programme the industry association aims at tapping the hitherto untapped potential of the district in rice and rice-based industries. Industrialists will be encouraged and helped to go in for setting up factories to produce rice milk, rice-based spaghetti and pasta, rice bread, rice wine and other rice-based value added products. President of EEDISSIA R. Mylsami says Erode district with Kangayam and Dharapuram taluks of Tirupur district have tremendous potential as they have both paddy fields and rice mills to make the most of the situation. At present, there are about 300 active rice mills and a rice bran oil manufacturing industry in the aforementioned regions. He also says that it will be easier for rice mills to expand operations as they already have infrastructure in place.

The second trend is the increased reliance of auto manufacturers on suppliers and design houses to support the design and manufacturing functions. A third factor crucial to an internationalized auto industry is standards as communication, as a basis for regulation, and as an aid to interchangeability. The founding principle of the SAE International is to unite scientific and technical staff to perform free academic discussions, to dedicate themselves to the cause of prospering the science and technology for automotive vehicles and to make contributions to speed up the modernization of automotive industry.
