Sri Shanmugha College of Nursing for Women was established in 2018 by Sri Shanmugha Educational Charitable Trust to promote quality in Nursing Education. BACHELORS IN SCIENCE - NURSING
- Nursing is a profession wherein we serve for mankind.We are the frontline warriors with sacrifice and dedication to our profession.B.Sc Nursing - Undergraduate degree program provides the Appropriate foundation for nurses to practice her profession and prepares nurses for meeting the global challenges .The College offers a four- year undergraduate degree course. The courses are split into four distinct sections that start off with preparation and development, classroom learning, simulation learning, clinical learning and field learning. Students are given real time training in nursing through community health nursing programs, rural health programs and in areas such as Medical Surgical Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Maternity Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Nutrition, Hygiene, etc.
Eligibilities
- A candidate should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission.
- Candidate should have passed +2 examination with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany or Zoology) and English.
- The candidate should be medically fit. A Pass in all subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany or Zoology) and English is eligible for sc/st candidates

Philosophy : We, the faculty of this college, believe that this B.Sc (N) 4 years programme will be able to prepare our students to meet the standards of the profession, follow the code of ethics & deliver the quality and cost effective care in any settings.
Aims
- Prepare graduates to assume responsibilities as professional, competent nurses and Midwives in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services.
- Prepare nurses who can make independent decisions in nursing situations, protect the rights of and facilitate individuals and groups in pursuit of health, function in the hospital, community nursing services, and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice. They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor and manager in a clinical and public health setting.
Objectives
Apply knowledge from physical, biological and behavioural sciences, medicine including alternative systems and nursing in providing nursing care to individuals, families and communities.
